Charging imp

on: September 14, 2011, 01:31:58 pm
Hello,

still WIP, I'm going to add a piece of cloth or something to the pelvis area. Some more secondary motion like a titty-bounce is also planned. C & C appreciated.

Good! My only suggestion on the animation is the torso area, it's a bit static.. he should rotate the torso and lift each shoulder a bit when running : )

don't overdo it, just a bit! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h53UTHVCc7g

Good point and good video! I'll keep that around for future reference :)

I love it. I really do!

But there are a few things I spot that could be improved upon.

The extremely rough edit there sort of addresses one of them - that when you run, the torso twists a bit, most noticeable at the shoulders.

What I didn't show, is that the gut and chest should also move in tandem, and his hips should twist/move opposite the shoulders.

edit -
Actually I see now that you did do -some- of that but I feel like the shoulder/chest/gut/hips movements should be more pronounced.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try to do some torso twisting when I have more time :)

A suggestion I can give you from my experience with animation: when you see that you've made a little too many mistakes, just restart the whole thing, it's really hard to get it right just editing : p

i agree, tho personally i'd just redo the upper half of the torso then edit the belly to fit

hmm I wonder if increasing the height of the bobbing effect by 1 to 2 pixels adds more impact to his run.
