iPhone Game Development

on: August 31, 2011, 01:53:42 pm
I'd like to start developing games for iOS, possibly in an isometric pixel art fashion, and I'm looking forward to make something RPG-like, does someone have a tip for me to start? I know that there's Software Development Kits but I don't know which one to choose or what : ? I'm both a programmer and an artist, but I just don't know where to start : p

EDIT: I forgot to tell I'm in windows, is it going to be troublesome?

If you're on Windows, it's going to be very troubling. If you find a way to develop for iPhones on Windows, let us know. I'm interested in that else as well, and the only methods I've found are really "hacky", buggy and involved.
I make actual NES games. Thus, I'm the unofficial forum dealer of too much information about the NES

Definitely go for Android especially considering you're on windows.
Even if you don't have an Android phone you get an emulator with the SDK where you can test your applications out, plus it's not restricted by an Operating System.

I prefer Android over iPhone anyway, you can do a lot more with it and you're not tied down like you are on iPhone. (Developers point of view)

Monkey is a Basic-language that deploys to both iOS, Android and other platforms like Flash and Nintendo DS even. I dig it. Easy (relatively) but powerful.
