Not sure what you mean by "tiling" but in most other areas I totally agree with all your pointed out mistakes. Some where oversights, others happened because I just said "fuck it". Yet others are possibly a byproduct of the schizophrenic process I used to draw this.

I believe he means some areas appear as if they were peiced with tiles which did'nt fit perfectly together.
Amazing work by the way.  :o

I actually had to move a bit closer to the screen to make sure it really was pixel art. That's amazing. I just recently felt all cool for making a good looking tree, and then I come across something like this...

Anyway, the large foreground tree at the left has some strange blocks of solid color near the top, maybe could use some more texturing. Also, in the base of that tree, the shadow between it and the rock wall has some strange clusters that might need to be cleaned up.

you'll do it again . . . I promise . . .

Edit: just noticed lots of more tiling going on in the rightmost grass/bushes area.

Yeah, please clarify the "tiling" thing. What do you mean?

I think he means that it looks like as if it was layered differently, like, in the front, instead of being an element of the back behind those greenier trees

I think he means where there are noticeable edges, similar to if it were made of tiles that don't quite line up perfectly.
Here's one I spotted (but I had to look quite carefully to notice it - maybe saimo is particularly sensitive to this effect.)

Hello,

what I mean is that the picture seems to be made of hundreds on tiles (of different sizes and shapes) which don't border/overlap seamlessly.
Here are a few (but there are tens/hundreds more):

Very sharp eye, saimo. Something to look out for in general when making more organic scenes. Too much repetition of blocks on the x or y axis will do this.

Lovely image nonetheless, also looks like more than 32 colours. Nice use of the hazy colours to almost create a bloom type effect.
There are no ugly colours, only ugly combinations of colours.

Wow, amazing..
But I'm almost more amazed as to how you were able to spot those "tiling" areas, saimo's animated image was a real mind f*** :D

Hmm, are they tiling errors(I'm assuming it would be a waste of time to even make tiles in this case, so how can you have tiling errors), or poor clusters(I think that's what Helm refers to them as)?

But yes, this is some lovely scenery. I especially like the contrast you've created with the lit area. It's like coming across that one spot in a dense forest where the sun shines through.
