Wilderniss survival rpg - Male base 16x24

on: June 27, 2011, 12:07:18 pm
I've mentioned elsewhere that I got back into pixelart for an indie game I want to make.
The player will have to construct shelters, gather, hunt and later farm to keep away the biggest enemy called hunger.

This is the base sprite 360 degrees that i've put together, The pallet I got from tehwexxl0rz's ediit in the 'Robes' thread.
I'm thinking of using a pallete swapping method to let the player choose between a few different skin tones.

I also made some 8x8 tiles for wooden construction, But I dont really like them, The level of detail feels wrong to me, so I think I should redo that.

What do you guys think? C+C is more than welcome :)

The character base is looking pretty good so far. The cabin/shack seems kinda strange, I can't really make out what it is made of but by the looks I'd say it's a log cabin, the construction throws me off. The lighting seems unnatural as well.
Here's a short edit I did to the shack, just swapped a few colors and changed the texture a tad

I might have ruined the point by making it look made of planks, I don't know.
