Need help with my pixel art...

So this is my first attempt in pixel art, I read some guides and got stuck in but I'm really stuck in regards to the face I'm creating. Does anyone feel it looks off in the eyes or am I just been stupid?. Really need some help since this is a present for a friend but I'm really getting frustrated by the lack of progress on my end.

His right eye could be closer to the centre of the face. Maybe round out his jawline a bit (right now there are some obvious angles). Overall the colours could be more vibrant. Finally, what's that stroke of brown above his eyes?
