GR#053 - Lingerie? Really? - Anatomy, Pose

on: June 09, 2011, 06:11:59 am
Yup.

It's obviously not finished, and I'll be dressing her in due time. I wanted to get the anatomy down before venturing into clothes land, so anything that I've screwed up yet? I'm not sure if I'm sold on my palette either...it just seems off. I'm terrible with skin tones, so any critique would be much appreciated.

You've got some volume going on. Hard to crit with noting to compare it to. You got a ref?

Really digging it.  :)

Just quickly altered the proportions. Ignore any screwy stuff I inadvertently introduced.

As far as I can tell all you did is make her torso short and stubby.  If the original had different hair and was wearing glasses it would look exactly like my girlfriend.

well edited sir helm. i do also believe some lengthening was in order and in particular shortening up that one arm. I do think though that eyecraft was onto something (just too extreme), if you were to take Helms edit and perhaps shorten the torso a bit. That ribcage feels like it should be much closer to the pelvic bone than it currently is if shes supposed to be crunching her torso slightly in on her left side. The new hand edit looks muuuuch more natural, but id like to see the finger tips be more extended to match the opposite hand.

Id like to see any refs if they exist as well.

Intuitively, I would have done the same proportion adjustments as EyeCraft, as it matches the most frequent morphology I see around me (no matter how skinny or chubby). After a bit of, err, research, I can see how some girls have such a long spine and relatively short leg bones.

the hands and the torso are completely out of proportion. i've also had doubts regarding the angle of the torso in relation to the position of the arms. i've made a lot of other little tweaks on the following edit:
(yours as a comparison)

hope it gives you some ideas!

Yeah I've used a bad measurement for the head size, so it compacted the body too much. If you took the approach I used, but were more accurate about it, I believe it would vastly improve the proportions.

The torso is REALLY long, the legs too short. That's the biggest problem I see.

And please, please follow Helm's hand edit.  :)

Chris2Balls, I feel like you have lost the gesture in that edit. Though I really like how you softened the musculature.
