People can create a thread in the general section, and if it shows potential, mods would most likely move it to the activities section.
Personally I am just concerned there could be a flood of these, so I'd like people to only do it if there seems to be a lack of activities.
Right now we have the commercial critique as well as the smiley face activities which are fairly new in the activities section which could use some participation.
If there is support for the "Show and Tell" idea, we could pick a day for that and set that up, otherwise we could keep discussing the subject of consistent weekly challenges and see what other ideas there are..

about the show and tell, Why not make sure that all the weekly submissions are due in on sunday (the day that gets the fewst posts i think) so that the work week can be spent talking about it and making next week's pixels?
A mistake is a mistake.
The same mistake twice is a bad habit.
The same mistake three or more times is a motif.

The show and tell idea would be nice, as long as people didn't always shoot for realism and tried to pixel it stylistically and in different environments.

I would REALLY REALLY love a pallette challenge.  Someone posts a certain pallette (we should have a color minimum and maximum), and everyone pixels something from it.  I have yet to see a good pallette challenge on any of the forums I've visited.

A pallette challenge would be sweet.  How about a CGA challenge? :P

Something that would help a lot with these requests about more challenges and more this and more that, is if people would send their suggestions about these things to any of the moderators on here. Quite a few of the later activities on the old Pixelation were sent in as suggestions by regular members, then refined and posted by the mods. It makes things a lot easier for everyone if people are open with ideas.

Wanna see a CGA challenge? Send me (or anyone else really) a PM, I'll post it in the admin forum, people will discuss the specifics, and you'll most likely see it as the next challenge/activity in that forum section!

Come to think of it... I've never even looked at that forum section since it appeared here... maybe I should...

Could we not do a pixelart version of 'Finish my character'?? (The idea is to draw a chracter, the next participant will redraw it in a more detailed or own-styled version and also post a new character.)
