[WIP] Alien Head Shading Practice

The Bone jaw hasn't been worked on but do you think the rest is okay?

Pretty creepy design! I'd definitely suggest some lumpy shapeness on the right side where his eye is, if it was human. But I realise it's not. I'm not entirely sure what shape the skull is. But I think, inferring from the left side, there'd be a visible 'eyebrow' bump? Maybe?

What sort of texture are you aiming for? Right now he looks shiny and slimy to me. Cause of the wibbly shading and the specular.

I'd tint the greys so they aren't completely desaturated, gives 'em visual interest. I'm really confused by the volumes right now. not sure why the area bordering the temple is highlighted, and the mouth area is pretty confusing. there's also some banding on the tentacle things and the area where the jaw meets the skull. jaw blade looks to be from side-view, while head is at 3/4ths. if you have a preliminary sketch, it'd be useful in helping us delineate what's what.
