pro motion

on: April 26, 2006, 12:26:07 am
i have the old pro motion (4.7).  Does the animation light table function use the current palette of colors to render the semi-opaque image?  I think I have to expand my palette to double its size (adding a semi-opaque entry for every color) to draw the image and then remove palette entries when saving final image.  any comments/workarounds?

also - does the new version have any workflow improvements / new functions?  Is it worth upgrading?

wow I don't think I've used the lighttable ever so I can't say. Ptoing will have answers for you on both your questions, and thusly I'll alert him.

the lighttable in 5.0 / 5.1 is WAY better as the old one as it uses 24bit colour to make the transparency and does not use colours from the current palette.
There are a few smaller fixes and upgrades which make 5.1 nicer but the lightbox is the biggest change. Oh also that you can have more than 6 projects and they open in tabs which is nice.
