[WIP] Battle Baddie Portraits - Fire Bat

on: January 19, 2011, 04:23:00 pm
Hello all.  I'm working on some static baddie portraits for our Dragon Quest/Warrior kind of game. They must fit in a 136x96 frame.  I'm shooting for an 8 color palette for each one.

Here's a Fire Bat I'm working on.  C+C are needed and welcome.  I'm struggling with the lower wing and there are probably other issues there too.  Any insights?

Thanks,
Sam

Great palette!  The face is a bit hard to read, cleaning it up and refining the details would help greatly.  For the lower wing, try using the far one as reference for the shape and detail.  The far wing looks very uniform, while the bottom looks messy and nothing like the other.  Cool piece though, I really like it!

Thanks!  I'm still working on it, the lower wing is supposed to look like it's wrapping around to the front.

Ok, here's the latest update.  Any better?  I tried to add more definition but also sort of stumbled on a more flamed look.
