Don't apologize or take any offense.  If an image is meant to be seen 2x, 3x or 16x, then it should be posted in that size and not left up to the user to resize it.  You're creating art and have the ability to have it displayed in any way you want.

NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR YOUR ART!  EVER!
Is it really part of your art though?
It's just a courtesy thing to post things at 1:1 so we can easily view them at the appropriate zooms and offer criticism easier.

I disagree.  (To shamelessly self-promote,) take a look at my stuff at http://LarryPixel.Tumblr.com
I don't think my pieces look as good at 1x pixel size.  I conciously designed them to be a whole lot bigger.
It's more than a simple aesthetic choice.  I want the viewer to see each pixel.

1:1 is the pixels natural form though. A zoom function is definitely necessary for the process and inspection but I can't help but feel a piece is missing out by being designed as 200%/etc.

I'm just speaking for myself here but I don't think I ever make pixel art with anything other than 1:1 in mind, my point is that we all think about this differently and it's important to keep that in mind when presenting so you can get a variety of advice from people who will look at things from a different perspective.

The link you're promoting is dead, LarryPixel.

And although Lizzrd should not have posted that one-liner without any critique, I do not see any hate for big pixels.

Not for me.  Weird.

It's courteous to post things in 1x as it makes things (slightly) easier to edit, though most people here do not use neolythic pixel tools.

Well, that makes a lot of sense.  That's the best explanation I've heard so far.

Just post the image and say what the "recommended" resolution is. We all probably end up zooming in ALL images anyways. It's not really hate or anything like that, just us saying "no need to zoom in, we have the ability to do that automatically" because a lot of newcomers probably don't even know about it.

If you post an upscaled version you take the easy route of viewing the image at 1:1 away since we can only zoom in here, not out.
On top of that, it's pretty redundant anyway because of the already mentioned zoom feature on this site.
Does scaling an image blur it?
