16x16 RPG characters...

on: October 15, 2010, 10:28:11 pm
I know I have had this in my portfolio for a while, but I actually never got professional critique from here... so what do you guys think so far?

Looks nice but it's hard to tell how good an animator you are just by looking at the individual frames. I recommend making them into gif's so people can see them in action. Also weren't you going to fix that hair you posted a while back?

Oh ya, pick a more neutral and consistent background for those sprites.

Thanks. I will attempt to create some gifs, although all of them have the same walk cycle so far... so I might make 4 gifs, hope that helps. :) I will finish the portrait pretty soon hopefully this weekend. I haven't replied to it yet, but I will as soon as I have the edit done. Thanks btw, I seen your stuff, pretty good.

@ Evil Eye: Finally, some time to get back on pixel art haha... I made the gif here, sorry is kinda fast, but that's because I am using unfreez for the first time, and not sure about the numbers of delay... the more numbers I put up, the faster it goes so I left it on zero. I am going to show this one example for now:

*removed*

EDIT: Fixed it:

EDIT 2: Added each animation cycle separatedly so no one gets confused.

Hope this helps.

The downwalk Animation is putting his hands behind himself... See if you can bring them forward?

I can't... since the commisions are already paid off since last year. This is an older work of mine. Also, it doesn't have that problem since it's cause of the armor thing below the waist. Zoom in on the 1st sheet on the 1st post to see the template, as it doesn't have the "hidden" hand problem. Thanks for pointing it out man.
