Coneria from Final Fantasy in isometric perspective

on: October 07, 2010, 04:37:08 am
This was supposed to a quick little thing for fun but ended up taking much more effort than originally thought
basically I've converted the first town from FF to isometric perspective, it's mostly edited from the original tiles.

That looks seriously awesome. I love it. :)

The only thing that looks bad is the sprites. It's hard to see them, especially against the stone paths. But that's a problem with the original sprites, not your edit.

It would look cool if you made isometric directions for some of the sprites. Like the dude on the bridge. He'd look a lot better if he were facing North-East I think.

Aside from that though, really awesome. Seriously love it. :)

This is awesome beyond words.  I don't see anything much you could improve.

Well, I think as long as you're making this a creation of your own, you might as well gloss over some of the follies of the original FF artists.

Unless you're an originalist, of course, and then you can leave it be xD

To me the most annoying thing about those tiles is the cobblestone roads... they look messy, and the jump from flat black to a neutral gray makes them look quite odd. I feel like they don't match up with the rest of the image.

Other than that, cool beans. :y:

That looks totally cool.  Makes me want more isometric transformation of old games.

I'd like to see an isometry of a mario level.

It'd be more like a single straight diagonal line!

Very cool!  I like how accurate it is to the original game.

My only issue is that the stone road tiles could be cleaned up some, as the rotation made them look a bit messy.

Thanks for all the comets.
my main focus was trying to keep things as close to the original as possible.
The road was actually something I tried to fix but it just kept turning out worse and eventually I was just done with it.
