Krammy Needs Critique

on: October 18, 2010, 01:07:39 am
Alright, so I'll be posting various pieces in here that I feel need critique.

The first thing up will be this small 24x24 explosion I'm working on for a game.

Frames:

Animated:

Granted I wouldn't call it bad by any means, I feel like it could still use a lot of work. Some of the frames feel pillowed, with the worst being the 2nd last frame (in my opinion). Even though I'm sort of aware of these problems, I'm not really sure how to go about fixing them, as I've tried a few times, only to get the same result.

The whole movement seems too light, more like a balloon popping then an explosion. Can't really offer any advice on how to remedy that, except maybe to take a look through this forum for animated explosions ( there are quite a few ).

I would think to fix this by making the pieces at first not fly up but fly out then up.
