Adarias, you can have 13 if you'd like. I lost the muse there myself. If you don't wnat it, then 13 is up for grabs. Great stuff so far everyone! I can't wait to see this completed!

Thanks guys. You make the troll feel pretty.

i dont see why people cant just copy-paste into paint, do their tile, and save.
Hehe, dunno if mine changed the pallete or not, but that's the method I used. I even referenced the pallete from the first post, so.. :P I dunno. You should've seen it when I saved as a gif.

beh, when i get back to my moms, unless people like it this way, ill cross it in photoshop against the original to try and restore the colors again.

And thanks for the offer crab, but i think i like the position of 14 better.  13 is up for grabs then

here is an animation of the color changes, using the most recent and the last properly colored one i know of

Ah, so we've been using the darker pallete for some time then?
Anyway, the old one is nicer, but a good 50% or more of it's been done in the darker tone. Am I the only one who finds it weird no one pick up on this before?

its not just one darker pallette, its gradually been creeping darker. People just need to check they're not making it darker when they save it. When I've finished working, I copy it to the clipboard and save it to .gif in photoshop. that also gives me a chance to check up on doubles/multiples of colours which constantly appear, and merge them to the one colour nearest the original.

well, i have the same problem in a collab that i made in another forum, and i can tell that the problems IS the copy/paste method with png files, when it is used with IE.

In fact, IE tends to dark any png image, and when you copy it to the clipboard, it goes already with the dark palette.

The problem can be solved when people do the "save as" in his HD, and then open the png file with your favorite drawing software, do the editing, and then save again as png.

Hope this help :)

Thanks jmgandalf, thats very handy to know.
When I said copy/pasting I actually meant from where I work on the image into photoshop ( I use gamemakers image editor for all pixelling ), although come to think of it I think I did copy from my browser at least once so despite my battle to stop it I may well have contributed to the darkening myself without realising!
Again thanks for the tip, I'll keep that in mind in future, hope others do too.

haha wow, if the png darkening were to continue for 10 or more so iterations you'd end up with fullsat close to EGA colors. Excellent!
