Pointed Chin, flat head doesn't mix so well, try and use a "m" top instead, like http://a.imageshack.us/img713/9105/sug1.png
, It breaks the illusion alittle of a flat head.
You can also make it rounded, depending on what you prefer.
The SNES sprite however looks damn nice.^^
What reference did you use for the portrait?

Haha but i like his flat head =[
I guess could try to round out some of the edges on the hair. That might help.

Oh and for the portrait, I used a face sprite from a DS game. the only things I kept from it however were the eyes and mouth. I completely redid the face to make it a bit wider, made a new nose from scratch, and redid the hair.

glad you enjoyed the sprite ^^ THAT was made totally by me lol

Try and round the hair that works as well. :)

And somehow that face reminded me of a game, but couldn't pick which, Guess it might be from there.

Let me guess, Tōshirō Hitsugaya from Bleach DS game?

Actually I used Youroichi's face. That just goes to show you how much I altered it =p

I think it looks better now. Did I nail it? lol

Toushiro and Yorouchi has the same face build so doesn't matter. :P
The rounding looks better, but it still looks off on the top head part. Also, try and add a third skin tone to help elevate the 2d face.

A quick overlay for the sake of convincing you to round out the head. :)

Remember the basic shapes you used to build the figure, and stick to them throughout the process.

Hair is supposed to make your head look larger, not smaller or flat. Don't catch 'the road to El Dorado' Syndrome!

Yeeesh! What a piece of work this is...Don't do this!
Use WM's method of skull construction above. Figure out the angle your audience is seeing your characters head from and fore-shorten and plan accordingly.
