I think I like the shapes in the second tile more, but they both look pretty random. The second tile is too dark though, I think.

In the tiled image, do you see where those lines that make it look tiled are? Zoom in and edit them out, then take the part you edited and  cut out a 32x32 piece of it, and that's your new tile. Then put down a block of them and see if you can see any more lines. You can keep doing that and as long as you take a 32x32 square piece out of it, it will tile with itself perfectly, the pattern will just be a little offset.

Check out this thread: http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=10196.msg110538#msg110538

The tutorial I mentioned could help you to.
(BTW, the tut was actually made by StarRaven)

Or if you're lazy...

That's a pretty terrible tile as an example, but I guess that's not really the point of the tutorial, so. :sry:
Hope it helps. I forgot about this thing.

(Also, hi, Kidfrommars! I know I know that avatar but the name doesn't ring a bell and I'm not coming up with anything. Another mystery.  :o)

Your tiles look very random, and I think that's one thing you want to avoid. I've learned the hard way that it's easier to detail and transition grass and other tiles that you carefully placed each pixel rather then randomness.

(Hi StarRaven! I'm victimofgrace on the tkz. This was my avatar a while ago there.)
