Running Soldier + Mockup

on: May 22, 2010, 08:20:26 am
This started out as an animation test of a 32x32 running character. It's a little taller than that because, well, I wanted his hair like that.
That was done when I detailed it.

Anyway, I'm looking at this now, and I might consider making a mock-up with it. But for now, I just want CnC on the character itself.

pretty solid animation, I'd say. There's just something a bit awkward with the shadows on his back ... something "jumpy" that I can't pinpoint precisely.
You may also want to add some pendulum to his left fist (the background one) to avoid that "punch-at-every-step" effect you have right now.
... wait ... legs, and the other arm ... everything looks "jumpy" on that frame that moves the fore arm backwards. Is the animation complete ?

Oh, and maybe his ear should follow the overall head twist movement

Yeah, the animation should be complete....Anyway, I...

1. Made his head a bit smaller
2. Ear moves
3. Changed shadow to flow better
4. Added more shadow to pants
5. Fixed his left arm a bit to look less punchy

I wanted to make a mockup with the character too. Check it out.

Still very WIP, but this is my first real time doing something like this.
