I am very satisfied with the rock I did, but as always, my second piece is total shit.

I also think the trunks colors are too bright for the rocks... :/ This is for a platformer. Any help regarding choosing better colors and help on the trunk is appreciated. These are supposed to go in a beach scene, although the rock looks like it belongs in a forest...

Honestly I think these look alright.

The trunk has a constant hue, try shifting the hue in addition to the lightness.

Ditch the white background, it can throw off your sense of colors.

The rock colors are ok.  Google image search 'beach rocks' returns images with may different colors.  Pick some that you like.

I see, thanks. I thought the different sized chunks of the palm  tree were odd, and that I should fix that.. your thoughts?

No no no. Your trees are not poo. These trees, well, the first trees at least, are poo:

It looks like your doing alright. Though if it was me, I'd probably add a bit more dithering. The tree does look a bit shiny. Not plastic shiny, mind you, maybe I'm just nitpicking.

Hmm, I'll try dithering it a bit. The different sized chunks don't bother you though?

I have mixed feelings about that.

Just a little. Try working with them to see if you can get something different.
