 I like the dithering, but it's shaded like a gradient. Anyways, good work.

Hehe, that is relaly good work, I like it. I would suggest doing abit more shading on the red half of the top, more of that green glow, because it seems to just stop where it should extend a bit further in some parts.
Look for your friends, but do not trust a hope. It is forsaken these lands....

The color choice is interesting but it looks a bit squarish for a mushroom, even if it is a weirdly shaped one. I think the way you changed colors and lighting in a straight line makes it looks squarish. Try making the color and light shift more rounded. For that, I'd suggest looking at pictures of mushrooms. :P Even if it is cartoonish, natural elements help.
