[WIP] Piece after break

on: March 11, 2010, 08:11:13 pm
Hi
I'm working on something with origins in a small rework of my friend's work.
It turned out pretty well so I decided to work on it. But having ather jobs to do I think getting some feedback could make it much better.

Any comment and/or advice is welcome.

Hello. Pretty solid start to the piece, but I have to ask, what is the background of this character? His muscle bulk is enormous; I'm having trouble figuring out what his lifestyle could possibly be to account for it (besides, you know, Mr Universe).

The muscles are too segmented, which disrupts the movement and gesture of the figure:

Keep in mind the compound-form the muscles create when combined together.

I think you can omit the outlines on the lit-sides of the form, which I ended up with when cutting down the bulk on his right shoulder. Also his feet seem huge.

I like the original better, for the style. Being realistic isn't always the best thing.
Conquest is made of the ashes of one's enemies.
