Thanks, it doesn't help too much with shading or AA, but it is somewhat inspiring.
What I always do with shading, is just image the light source. Visualize it as if it were a 3d object and shade accordingly. Keep in mind where shadows will fall. Also keep in mind that it will be very bright (like almost white).
Here's a very rough edit I did on the top side of the monitor. I'm making no claim that this is good shading

In this case I visualized the light coming from the top right corner.

As far as AA goes. I usually do that all on a separate layer, that way it keeps the original image intact.
