and

I can draw things like this on paper.

The things that i'm seeing that are wrong:
The waist is too thin. Neck is too sloped. Shading sucks.
Anything i'm missing that you see?

How would I go about shading this better?

sorry for sucking....  :D

I used more references this time around!  :D

Beginning:                    After:

The game is actually played at 400x zoom, so at this size, some shit won't matter....

Aaaight!!!!!!!!!!
New less-fucked up anatomy. (hopefully):

the arms are rough right now and are 100% open to change, so is the face.... and the shadows....

Thanks for all the crits.

First punch:
if someone punched you like that, do you think it would huirt?  ;D
Try to make it faster

Second punch:
Look at yourself in the mirror and punch. does your arm go back that much? (i hope not)
does it end in the same position as it started?
does it go directly back, or off to the side before you bring it back?

The beginning of the punches:
You probably wanna make this two sheets. one for the punch and one for the standing.
The way he pulls his foot up is unnatural.

Standing:
His feet are kinda shaky

I dont want to sound overly harsh.
Kudos tho. The sprite itself pretty good over all!  :D

Not shaded yet, no hands either. Anatomy is a little distorted, but i think its going in the right direction  :P
Open to anything right now

Thanks for the comments "what". The horns on the helmet are crooked because Vinny bought it that way. How is his face kinda off? Sally's beak...well she's a weird crow. Glad someone commented on this.

the right side of his face is kinda lumpy, and there is an extra line on the front spike on his helmet  :D

quick edit

the images above are all different, its kinda breathing. they are NOT shaded

i cant get the animated pic uploaded, cuz i haven't found the right program to use for animation. i just use the one built in game maker.

i like this pallet, even though it is a bitch, and iive made an entire game using this pallet, and imo, it looks pretty okay

i also have shaded it in before, and it looked something like this:
