A bit of inconsequence I'd say ;)

The fridge lacks the edge highlight that the table an armchair have, plus the armchair doesn't have the black outline the other objects have - personally I'd either ditch the black outline totally, or just the background, leaving the outline on the character (something that cartoon animation does often)

I'd change the colours on the door knob, most likely it's supposed to be gold, or brass, but it's piss yellow right now ;)

Character's not bad, head seems to be a bit too wide, and the hands should be 1-2 pixels longer I think. He has the problem of the "selective" black outline too - I'd have the whole character outlined (but no outlines "inside" him) or without outline at all.

Hope this helps ;)

That's some cool stuff guys!

Just posting my avatar and challenge piece. I don't think they need a separate thread, they're my first pixels after a three month(or so) break, though :)

For a start, I've edited the shades of the BG to increase contrast.

Thanks for suggestions. While I wanted to have defined objects like metal, bricks etc. in the background, the setting is still something undisclosed :) The game is a new one in the series (You can play the original here: http://retrocade.net/play/17/linx), it always had a clean, abstract theme and this time I just wanted to give the player more to look at this time ;)

Vegetation is a nice idea, as well as the different levels/varied depth, but I need to consult my programmer on this one, since objects may need to have sorting of some kind, so they are obscured by taller things in front, etc.

Hello! Making a tileset for a puzzle game - instead of doing something abstract or a clean and simple design, I wanted to do an actual tileset. Dark and greyish and a little gritty - the game is all about colours, so the background is supposed to make them pop out more.

Tileset here (lacks some of intersections, etc. currently)

And a test assembly:

I'd really like to hear your suggestions!

Supposed to be retro looking, NES limitations were too tough for me ;) so I went with GBC specs. This will be shown at 2x resolution.

Any comments, ideas? Since the gameplay elements will be rather simple, any ideas for making the background more interesting are very welcome ;)

Tried a flatter perspective, plus some drop shadow (which just has to be there to make the blocks look less pasted)

Just a little puzzler I'm making with a friend, got some color/contrast issues :P

I think I like the bottom-right corner the most, but I think the overall look will be too dark when I'll add background (And the theme aws supposed to be bright and colourful). The eyeballish thing is the player.
