Yo Tycho!
Welcome to Pixelation!  :)
Dope stuff, good feeling.  :y:

Some of the shapes could be cleaner, like the left side of the stool and other places.
Sounds like you were on a time budget tho.
Good on you for focusing on completion rather than perfection.

I question the placement of the ash tray and tea cup.
It adds a nice messy, too busy to think straight, risk and charm to the piece.
Tells a story and draws interest, so the fact that I question it is good.
Maybe add more wrongly placed items?
Or maybe just a couple is good enough?
Dunno.

As for using lines or solids, there's pros and cons to both.
So use whatever is going to flesh out the current step and and help you move to the next.
A nice combination is to draw solids and then cut into them with erased lines.
Experiment to find what feels good for you and always modify your process to fit what you're working on rather than a standard.

Redoing parts isn't a realistic concern.
Editing, improving, fixing, refining, etc, is just the nature of art.

Personally I prefer a bit of warping and wrong perspective.
But that's just my taste.
Of course it's better if that's intentional.
So if you want it more regular, def fix it up

For embedding youtube videos use the yt tag and the video id found at the end of the link.
Like this:
Code: [Select]
[yt]iOKECERd6KE[/yt]Changed it for you.

Welcome aboard and happy pixeling!

Welcome to Pixelation!

When working with a palette restriction, its artistically helpful to re use colors based on their brightness rather than hue.

You're right, the colors on Link have a material identification.
Green = clothes
Peach = skin
Black = edges + forms

But they also have an order of brightness.
Bright --> Peach -> Green -> Black --> Dark

Light is what allows you to visually understand what an object is.
So adding strategic hints of light and shadow using the available colors, even if re used or pre indentified, adds clarity and volume to the image.

Even when not using a palette restriction, you will find that relative brightness overrides hue in art.
Same with real life.
Your friend Steve is still Steve under a blue light.
Play around and use it to your advantage.

Lastly, its fine to study what pleases you, but just start pixeling now.
Enjoy your time here and happy arting.  :y:

Use a larger canvas and draw the same subject many times.
Drawing one thing per file lacks direct comparison and will limit your ability to gauge progression.

Pixel Art / Re: Noise or no Noise

If you really want noise for game assets do it with a shader in game.
That way it can be non destructive, applied to multiple objects, animated, etc.

Also forgot to mention you can use noise by hand for impact frames in animation.
But still don't apply a filter to the image permanently.
Either use an adjustment layer or a full canvas layer of noise with the alpha of the character applied to it.

Everyone comes with baggage and burns.
Something in your post triggered another member and they let you have it.
This could happen anywhere on the internet.
Grace will get you further than fire.
Just chill and let it go.
It's really not that big of a deal on either end.
Good luck with your project.
Hope you find the artist you're looking for.
:)
