I have a question for everyone. Do people prefer that threads last forever, or that they are deleted with age?? Would archiving (and/or locking) old threads be a better way to save the information while preventing posters from bringing back long-expired topics? What about some sort of checkbox to suggest archiving?

I'd prefer it be automated... but any ideas are welcome here.
Archive for sure. It would make replying to "how do I do x in iso" or similar type topics simpler because we could tell them to simply search the forum for old topics on that subject. And we relly need to start preserving the things that get said on this forum. It saddens me to think of all the lengthy useful replies people have made that are forever gone. Could be helpful for replies too, by making it possible for people to look for the advice given in similar topics when trying to make critiques

I think you might've gone overboard with the details. As I'm sitting here writing this, I'm looking at my arm. The lgiht source is hitting my arm from above, and I see arm hair, some veins, and little colourations from the veins and little red patches like on my knuckles. When I turn my arm as upside down as it can go, I notice that I start to lose these details as they are no longer hit directly by light. Arm hair, while still there, is less visible, veins become harder to notice on the skin, as do subtle variations in skin tone like in my knucles.

http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm This is a link to a web page explaining a ton of different things about colour theory and other art topics. Head down to the middle of the page and the author has some examples showing how to balance details and form.
Look for this picture and the links to the pictures will be above

You also might want to do a google for dragons and see how other artists balance the details on their dragons.

Pixel Art / Re: The Boar

No, no, the white bg is what makes this so amazing to the eye; it pushes the boar into the viewers eye. I can't really think of any thing that I'd like ot see improved here. I love the jagged feel of it, and the way you've used the light to make it so wonderfully atmospheric. This kind of reminds me of ICO for PS2 in the way the cold characters in that game would contrast with the wonderfully warm outdoors areas. Well it's sort of the opposite in the way that you have a warm character/ cold background, but I still love the atmosphere it creates.

I think the mods could get pretty anal at times, but after lurking at the various other alternative forums and checking out how its members acted without pixelation-type rule, I think that this behaviour was the reason why pixelation was such a nice place to be and a great place to get crits from.

Holy shit YES!! Looks absolutely awesome! How is this being sold? Will it be available in any retail stores, or is it something you'd have to order over a website?

I was wondering how you'd do the spaceship shmup scenes, and I was very pleasantly surprised with what was shown. Can we preorder?
