I'm in the mood for a little Harvest Moon, and I started making a little Harvest moon sprite using my avatar's base. From there I ended up with this little beaut. I'm quite proud of it, but I'd like to see what you guys think. I think I may need to make up another grass tile because of repetition.

In case you're wondering, the x pattern dirt tiles are supposed to be dry earth that's cracking.

All of the PMs have been sent off. Each PM contains the name of the person that YOU are responsible for making a gift for. You now have until the end of the 23rd to complete your Secret Santa gift. Once again, this cutoff date is really for our benefit so that we have the time necessary to organise the things on our end. A thread with all the gifts will be posted in the Activities & Challenges Section on the 24th

As established from a previous year, the only rule here is that your gift be pixelled in nature.


WHAT DO I DO WHEN I’M FINISHED?
When you have finished, you have two options. You can send an email with a link to your image(for free image hosts check the Tools & tutorials thread) to secret.santa.submissions@gmail.com and we will post it in the final Secret Santa thread. When sending the email, make sure that you say what your username is, and who the gift is for so that we know who you are. If the email address is on the fritz, you can also PM it to me. The second option is you can post the gift yourself, BUT NOT UNTIL THE FINAL SECRET SANTA THREAD IS CREATED ON THE 24TH

Please don’t start making posts trying to figure out who is making your secret santa. Do your best to live with this secret shame for the next week or two.

Other than that, have fun, be creative, and don’t hold anything back when making your  gifts.

About Myself: I’m not entirely sure how long I’ve known Pixelopolis/Pixelation for. I’ve been a member here since September ’04, but I’ve known it for, I think, a year before that. Perhaps the earliest thing I can remember is a Super Metroid Commercial Critique and I can remember some of Ndeal’s first pixels.

Activities: My favourite things in pixel art are tiled game world art, and the sprites that inhabit these worlds. Creating challenges that revolve around these two would interest me the most. However, if this would not provide enough variety, I will do my best to work with the other sides of pixel art to come up with some interesting activities. I’ll try my best to meet the many needs of Pixelopolis and its members.

I’m also hearing some people out there clamouring for a commercial critique. I’ve only had the opportunity to watch one CC in action, and wasn’t really paying attention when it did, BUT, all this talk has gotten me interested in learning how it works. If elected I will put substantial effort into this and find out from the older members how they worked and what made them so interesting and appealing. Working with the other representatives, I will use this to bring to you a commercial critique.

To summarise my goals: bring the commercial critique back, and provide some variety in the challenges if needed.
