I see a ton of WIP from you recently, makes it hard for me to want to offer any C&C because it looks like you never finish anything.

Wow I haven't worked on this in a while, first thing I did was grab wexx's pallette. I like it, but I'm thinking it needs to be desaturated just  a little. Worked on the arms/body/face/etc.. Only had an hour today to touch up some stuff. Also noticed in helms edit, he had a good point bout where the front foot is, so I moved it to make more sense. I'll work on this more when I get home from work, all I had was lunch :)

Also, when posting this, I am noticing the lighting is a little hard on that front shoulder/arm/leg, I was trying to imagine the light hitting the muscles, but not hitting whats around the curvature of the muscles, you tell me.

Great to be working on this again. Thanks to everyone who's given great C&C

Real quicky edit based on what I just said:

Heres the latest update, I think it's almost done. St0ven suggested that I desaturate the skin tones, I'll work on that later tonight:

Changed palette, still could be some stray colors, I'll fix those and the shirt later:

Done & with alternate BG:

And a little doggy I made:

I just wanted to point out something I noticed when I first saw this. The woman is looking away, and while that is dramatic, I think you would have more of a dramatic impact if she was looking at him, or they were both looking down, with foreheads touching or something, and in the distance was something awesome, something so awesome, that she would rather be close to her man, than look at it. and vice versa. Just a suggestion though, keep up the good work :)

General Discussion / Re: Official Off-Topic Thread

Hey all,

I learned on the net that some have ported AmigaOS 4 to macbooks. Unfortunately, I can't find any info about purchasing amigaos anywhere, has anyone done this before? AmigaOS on a macbook? If so, let me know if you can help out with any info. I have a macbook that I'm just dying to use for pixeling.

Thanks!

Yeah, I reply both here and PJ, but honestly, this forum is where the action is at as far as getting good C&C in a timely fasion. Also, I think more folks here are familliar with arne's palette.

I chose that specific palette because I've always wanted a video gamey looking avatar of myself and I really think the palette is rad, the colors are just so NICCEEE!

Also, its a challenge to me, I love challenges and I feel like a pixel chemist, mixing color combos together to see what the effect is.

I wouldn't mind using another palette, or modifying this one for my needs but one of the things I'm trying not to do is go for realism and pure ramps. I look around at panda's stuff, ptoing, etc.. and they are all able to use solid colors, no dither, etc.. to achieve a nice effect, panda especially.

A lot of my stuff is messy, even all these WIPs are too messy for me.

I want it to be smooth with bold colors.

I'll keep messin, if anyone has some color suggestions, by all means.

Update: Fudged during lunch, incorporated the light red more to blend the face, lost the highlight on the forehead though because it just seems to bright.
