Pixel Art / Re: Yep, Sword Slashing.
« on: December 11, 2008, 12:55:20 am »
Got some time to take a closer look. Should say appeared bit confusing.
Here's why.
Frame 1 - pose is very calm, not ready for action at all - meaning you would have to spare some frames to get him in ready to attack position. (loosing some time)
Frames 2-9 - not quite clear what direction sword going - from the right shoulder to the left? In anyway  it is should follow an elipse instead of going down then turn left - very hard to control such a motion in a real life.
I tried from left shoulder to the right, see if it makes more sense.
Frames 10-17 - unclear motion. If it is a combo from his first swing position there is no sense to go back (while it is already there). You could try that with a stick - you'll loose a power of inertion. i think it will work better in two motions. Perhaps it is up to you.
rest of the frames - you don't need that much frames as long as you use speedlines.

Any way - that what i come up with - quite sloppy, but i hope you'll get my point.

Works fine in general.=)
A few things I would suggest - anticipation of second slash (fr.16-17) - sword finishing motion arch - body starts moving forward. I x-ed frames i think as unnecessary, but see if it'll work for you.=) Some spacing adjusting  could be done also.

Cutie=)
A think it might benefit if you raise an eye to make room for the cheek. Also pose looks a bit stressed, see if this  makes any sense:

I move spine with shoulder down to make wing more visually attached and move tail on the back - i think it just not logically connected up there. That brown shade is very close to the green one and instead of buffering it creates something indefinite, i lite it up a bit. Perhaps, it all is up to you.=)

I'm in. =)

E1 (feeling pinky, eh)

I like life in general to isolate anything particular, but do appreciate a humorous side of it the most.=)

I want to see him do some! :D

Yeah, me too ;D I'm afraid i won't have time to accomplish it today or tomorrow, I think there is no point to sit on it.=)

44 was taken and finished already.

Yeah, missed it. Oh well...=)

Is 44 still free? May I have it?  ::) I'll be quick, I promise.

Thats some nice idea, though it is feels a bit odd design wise - full armored knight doesn't feel right in combination with a lion - fast and dodge cats nature with a somewhat limited in motion man. Maybe  give him some light stuff, at least partially - like chain shirt and so? If put that aside (i'm not too confident in here at all , haven't done realistic humans much) but proportions looks a little off. See if that makes any sense.=)

Nice progress here, colors are definitely improved.=) A few things still bothering me - his pose kinda stiff. See if that make any sense to you - i put a shadow under the hat and instead of using a new color for the pants in the dark range use one in midtones.

Pose indeed pretty weird, very hard to figure out the gravity for the trench coat.Looks like he is laying down on his side. Probably it might work if you use  down to top perspective. Also guitar heck headpiece belongs to classical instrument, body - to electrical. Perhaps, just a note.=)
