We used GoogleDocs (this was pre wave) and it worked stellar. We also used the built in SVN client/whatever in NetBeans. Yeah, we made the game in Java.... Don't do that.
Try dropbox for resources.

Very nice, although I would've liked to see more from the first mockup. (the samurai eye or something, if I remember correctly)
Also, I liked the puke/yellow/green grass color.

I've actually visited this thread like 5 times a day since you made it, hoping for updates on the mockup  ;D

I think maybe the hair of the blackharied dude should be redone, it looks like somekind of beanie right now.
Also, what is the yellow bar below the HP bar supposed to be? Special attack?

I really hope to see more from this.

First of all, AMAZING!
I have been looking for a game like this. Anyone know what this kind of perspective is called?

The hedges look good but they dont fit the style of the other artwork.

Suggestion:
Make the 2 main characters a little more personal, i mean right now they are just different colors.
I didn't even see those were knives until pkmays mentioned it. Maybe you should do them a little more metal.

Also, if you look at games like River City Ransom, you can see that they take the same body and switch the heads.
And then they change the color of the bodys for their level of difficulty.

This was really cool. The controls... They take alot of practice. Maybe you could make an "Options" where you can change the controls.
And character/hoovercraft selection would be cool.
Nice graphics too.
