Pixel Art / Re: Logo

I'm wondering if any of you have some good references/examples to draw inspiration from, and whether you have
some tips for this sort of task. Is it a bad idea to pixel on top of an image?

There are probably too many references at an early point such as this, so just go ahead and start pixeling (on top of the image). I'm not sure if you're trying to go old skool or not with this... :)

that pic is 'scene art" and as you can see you have to emulate 3d for it to look like that with screwed text in most chases.. "more then one side"

...which, for as long as it's pixeled, is all totally valid in regards to the practices on this forum.

where did you see me saying it was not pixelated? i only saw hes pic and that he wanted to make "scene" text and i told him the basic.. when did this become "this is not pixel" flaming?

Oh hum, looks better now, with the non-jpgness and all. It looked like you just used paint and scribbled some purple over white. It doesn't look like that anymore. You might wanna add some AA on the writing though, to make it look more in place iwth the moon and such.

if i aa the text any more it wont even look like text. think i overdid the AA even.

It's very messy. Cleaning it up would really benefit readability. A lot of the colors are almost the same colors as others.

http://pixeljoint.com/pixelart/50243.htm An example of graffiti with 10 colors, strong design and a very clean look. Even thought it's kind of grungey it's clean. Look into it.

yeah i've seen it- thou you can't really get that good results in sutch small scale i did it and the readability is not an issue for the scene tbh- as long as ppl know what it says beforehand

and about the close colour- i did some random dotting all over the place for highlighting and then changing the colour to see how it looked like. so i guess some colour are close to the same

ok did some "practicing" on AA and ... well goofing around i got this.. mind the colors I'm going to change them ^^ only for testing.

using GraphicsGale and i could not in good way make "half tones" kinda like make a layer 50% in order to make better AA ... well i guess i have to change progs or find a harder way to do it ^^
