would not mind some constructive critic on this but did not add it in title since i did not want it to be the focus of it. spent about 2hrs on it 'i am not the fastest :p'

General Discussion / My variation on the color reduction technique

Hello, i have been making pixel art for a good few years. but i have also been using photoshop for a good deal longer and it has always been my greatest tool in creating pixel art. so i am going to show a technique i have been using with some of my latest pices that have gotten some notification.

first i start with the base picture
then add filters to first restrict it to a color pallet and resize if needed. in photoshop this can be done with postorize and gradient map.
After this you want to add a ditter pattern and blend it with the picture. in photoshop you create a new layer put it to soft light / over lay and play around with the fill / Opacity
now you already have a pixel art looking picture. and this is what my first picture i made was no real edits just a little cleaning.
if you want to make this your own you will put the color restirction to 1 or 2 colors and work from that like so.
now you have a base to work on. and a good referral you can make something crazy like this.
remember to always have the original you worked on if you are showing it off and say that you used a color reduction technique.

Pixel Art / [WIP][CC] 3D Animated Face

Working on a 3d animated face only 3 sides done so far... using a filter for the dittering / shadows just to so it is easier to look at. pretty new to animations any tips on how to make it look smother?

so i've always experimented with dithering - i like the randomish dithering and making structure of dithering rather then blending colors - good examples is helm's spartan . would like some CC if this looks or if just normal dithering would be better for this.

Pixel Art / [WIP] Dog-pig/human [CC]

Made this dog-pig/human or a gomba i guess looking baby.. but i can't get the collours to "feal" right. any CC or help on this part would be super, Also the light is from the top no angle.

Pixel Art / Fireworks/universe collab

Hello, thought i post this little collab made from i dont know how long ago.
Any whays i thought now when it is soon newyear that it would be fun to make a Fireworks or a universe collab using the c64 pallet "or" the normal 256 one.
thought the img could be 1000x1000 depending on how many want to go with this it all depends on how big each pic will be. but was thinking of a 100x100 for each.
if any one is interested please leave your name and idéas on how to make this a good one ^^

Hello thought i would make an entry here since i finished my duken nukem logo
i basically used the "real" logo as a mall or what to call it and pixeled away.. want to see some other duke's pixelations "in before pixelated stripper"
thought this could make for a cool contest figuring that duke nukem forever is due in about 1 year
.
Can stand for the price myself "if we get a good base of user willing to submit some arts"
Also this is a WIP =p
