Now working on it.

Pixel Art / Mug help!

In other words, this means anatomy practice.

[/WIP]

I though a tinted greyscale was a good start for mugs.. Got the idea when I saw an edit Helm made in an old thread here.

C&C apreciated

I liked it much better when it lacked the darker outlines, it seemed much smoother. I prefer it that way, but it's an artistic choice.

Same here. I think the bright colors alone are good enough to make him stand out. Otherwise, it'd look more like a game mockup.

If you're going to heep him this way, the background might need some touches of black to balance this out.

I like this so much, I could even use the Wip as my desktop. Keep it up.

Hmm.. Delayed because of college, but I worked on it a bit more these days

The last one was off the C64 pallete by a color, but this one's entirely faithful now.

Thanks for the good crit.  :y:

What im trying to do here is, well, to have all the nature forces somehow gang up to overwhelm the small greek temple in exagerated ways. Im looking more into movement flow and action for the piece by somehow twisting the perspective views around.

The temple holds hierarchy here because it's opposing all the chaos with order. The center spot was intended.

Here's an update: (This was before I read the crit)

We shall leave our mark

Im practicing new methods, and challenged myself to use the pallete there. Tried this because it's too far out from my confort zone.
Ms Paint, if relevant.

This would be one of my first proper pixel-art backgrounds; since all I have ever done before were sprites and characters. I wouldn't mind some C&C on it.. *craves*

Oh and, see if anyone can get meaning out of this.  ;)

Whoa.. I never noticed this board before.

Either way. Im Smash, and I've been spriting and drawing my whole life without instruction, mostly for the last 5 years.. I came here to learn how to properly make pixel art and any other art methods in general, since it's a passion of mine I want to develop.

So far, im an 18 year old guy who hails from the island of Borinquen, and is studying the art known as architecture. I've been going on the forums a while back, and planning to stay.

I'll keep it in mind.

But now for the face, remade. I think I got the Tyvon problem down.

Made 4 versions:

Im leaning towards the dithered down left.. Down right was the original before remake.

Wow, that's a big improvement to the original design, without a doubt. I was planning on following the original, so a second version might be coming.

The face.. Im thinking on redoing it.
