hm, good idea!

I think I will add dorsal fin and change the wiggly tail end to a fin.

And.....color it like an Orca! Just gotta figure out how to do that white eye part when the eyes are close together..

And for the FF sprites, I used the pallete for those monsters, but I will try to find more contrast if I can in the NES pallete.

Although I guess I guess I don't have to be a purist either...

I'll figure it out.

I understand it's supposed to be small, but when it's this small you really can't recognize any of them.

A nice trick you can do is exaggerate the the head size. This will give you more room to pixel, while still keeping them relatively small and more recognizeable.

Also, Obama looks like the blackface with the pink lips. It's borderline offensive D:

Hey everyone. I want to ask for your critique on a couple of things, to limit the amount of posts.

First thing, is this guy. He's a snake. He's polite and likes candy canes :)

Is there anything I can improve on it? I'm not sure, but I think somethings off.

Second, I've been thinking about making monsters in the style of Final Fantasy 1. 4 colors, with black as a permanent color.
Small monsters are 32x32, large ones are 48x48.

My monsters are the mask and the snail. The giant and the iguana are obviously not mine, I put them there though to show the comparison.

One thing I notice is that the monsters they made look very detailed, whereas mine look more plain.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks :).

Personally, I think the concept is fine. Look at these Final Fight screenies...

The player has a grey tee and tight jeans. Very typical, no? And look at the enemies. Their clothes almost look like jumpsuits.

But they do look dynamic and energetic. I think that's what makes them exciting. Hope that helps you.
