Hi Indigo, then I can, for example, upload my digital paintings too?  :y: :y: :y:
Yes, all mediums are accepted in the appropriate boards. :)

No worries, topic moved to General Discussion.  ;)

I’m sorry to hear this happened to you. If the scammer in question has an account here, please let a mod know so it can be dealt with.

These are good tips. One thing I’d like to add is you should always try to have a downpayment upfront (50% is good) or a contract, or both. Preventative measures like these help lower your chances of being scammed, or make it easier to gain back lost finances since you can prove there was an agreement between you and the client. Online contract sites like DocuSign in conjunction with email correspondence make it much easier to keep track of your agreements. Discord can be a hotspot for scammers since messages are able to be deleted or edited freely at any time.

The images you posted aren’t showing up for me - you could try hosting on Imgur instead if Dropbox is being finnicky with permissions. If they’re “general” enough you can maybe consider reselling the assets in a pack on itch.io for a small amount of potential profit, or repurposing them for your personal use.

Since the spam is all in one place, eliminating the need to go into individual threads to delete replies, it cuts down on the workload for the mods quite a bit.  :y: The annoyance of visible spam before the rounds are made should be pretty much eliminated, and no one has to be up at odd hours of the night to delete posts. I've manually tested the filter in every board and sub-board, for creating threads and replying. It is a little bit annoying for new users with no posts yet to have to wait a day or so for approval, but once they have one approved post it won't affect them anymore, so I think it's a worthwhile tradeoff considering it has already begun preventing spam.

By the way, CAPTCHA is enabled for new threads, but it's ineffective at eliminating spam because many spammers are actual humans.

Thanks, Dan! It seems to be working. The filter has already successfully caught a spam topic.  ;D

Pixel Art / Re: Any good way to make pixel art on a mobile device?

Editing out the spam links.. I’m going to leave the thread in question up since eishiya’s response was useful and detailed. Dan asked Atnas to look into the automoderation issues so we’ll have an extra set of hands on it after the holidays roll over.

Archived Activities / Re: Secret Santa 2018

Isn't it a bit against the spirit of Secret Santa to reveal everyone's names? Half the fun is trying to figure out who did what until/unless they decide to reveal themselves.
The “rules” of Secret Santa vary by community. Pixelation’s tradition is to reveal all of the gift givers’ names, but only on Christmas Day. Before that, it’s a total secret what everyone is working on and who it’s for. :) Since art takes a lot of personal time and effort to create, many art communities operate their Secret Santas this way. Those who didn’t participate and are browsing through the gifts can discover artists they may not have known about before, which is always great!

This only happens if you put an image with “https” at the start of the URL as your avatar. The settings are exactly the same, but apparently SMF only likes “http” URLs. Remove the “s” and it should work as usual.  ;)
