Nice. Reminds me of that one dude from Billy and Mandy on Cartoon Network... >_>
The perspective of the gun handle is totally screwed up. Other than that.... very nice. The hair is very cool, and the pants are very you, Tremulant.

I luv teh rough feel you have on your robot, GS. Reminds me of Terminator. I kinda like how it is right now,, with the dark bg.
xion night's is very nicely formed. :)
miascu... holy shit.  :o ... How exactly would plunderbot dx wisecrack?
dusty's reminds me of eggman from sonic.
blick: I agree, did Monsoon2D try this yet? Man... that parrot is really expressive, and it's cool.
zach: cool WIPs. the latter makes me think of robocop for some reason.

That's a perty good attitude  :D

To improve: Check out the Tools, Tuts, and Linkage thread in general discussion. You will find it VERY informative, especially tutorial-wise. Many many techniques there regarding pixel-pushing.
Of course, you should practice the techniques contained within. Lurk a bit in these forums, I think you will find other's works to be inspiring...
Mess around a bit with your paint program, you know. Especially after the tuts and while lurking. It's a somewhat slow (actually, not that slow) progression, but eventually, you would probably produce something you feel really confident about. Post that, recieve crits, remember crits, rinse, wash, repeat.

Crits I can offer on: Color conservation + Contrast. I'm no good at anatomy, so I'd be a hypocrite to berate you on that, haha.
First Piece: Dithering metals *generally* makes the texture dirty and non-metalish. Hair doesn't flow. The text shows rudimentary understanding of AA, but AA can still be learned further (lurk around for that, because AA is quite a different skill to master).
Oh, and the lion pic in the bg, is that hand-pixeled? (We generally frown upon non-hand-pixelage).
Second Piece: Already mentioned Color conservation + Contrast. Will mention again.

Consent given, but only if you know what's goin' on with the colors in the edit.  ;)
(Nah, kidding, you can use them if you don't, but if possible, give credit)

How's the game going?

A few color edits. I pulled a few hues apart a bit and redid sat values for skin and some other places. I assume alien skin is sorta like human skin. :D I also tried my hand at... the hands. And redid the flames. And stuff.
I may have overdone it a few places.
It's a very well done detailed little sprite you have there. I like it. :)

Oh, and hi.

Pixel Art / Re: Mario & Luigi heads
« on: May 31, 2006, 01:20:08 am »
While AAing, don't be afraid to cut into the outline. Don't over AA, or you'll basically be doing a pixel-by-pixel blur. It should feel smoother and stay feeling thin. This is generally speaking, of course (in art, yes, rules are broken, and pixel art is still art).

The shapes and designs of those heads are really interesting (weird, in a good way).

More contrast between the two brown shades. The light source is confusing. Colors are perty unoriginal.
I say yes to black, but the neck is weird. Not sure what I'd do with it though.
And hi. :D Don't take anything I've said personally, crits are completely objective.

Pixel Art / Re: Broadway Poster

...So you choose pixel art??  :D
It's very noice. One thing I'd pick at, though, is the use of select-copy-paste-reflect. It makes weirdness with lightsources. Of course, it's just a poster, so it makes me wonder why you pixeled the whole thing.
The rock walls are very very sexy.
The text has you written all over it.

I approve verily.
