his post refers only to the quoted message >_>
I knew that.  ;)
...I was just lamenting about the original quote, where it says "You can’t have a tank that sprouts wings and flies".

2.) The vehicle has to be practical.
Example: You can’t have a tank that sprouts wings and flies.  It has to be something that could possibly work.
5.) You have a choice of styles you want to choose.
A.) Stone Age
B.) Futuristic
C.) World War II era
D.) Leonardo De Vinci

pfft what is this?

ill see if i can make something but if its not practical im not gonna care. how do you say we have to make something practical and then say we can create something that is futuristic. I think that anything then would be therefore made up seeing as we dont know what to expect so how can you say that it would be impractical or not. I dont know really...i just think you dont know what you were doing when writing up this challenge. Because for all you know, there really could be a tank that sprouts wings and flies in the future.

ps. Leonardo Da (not de) Vinci is a person, not a time era.

Is this making a laughingstock out of my flying futuristic P.E.G.A.S.U.S.?  :'(
Still, Alex is right. Physics is an ever-evolving science, and the "future" is only made up of assumptions which may or may not be true.

P.S. That was a list of styles, not time eras.

What cowboys in the future will be riding:

Hmmm... I actually had time to start something!!  :o

Anyways, it's WIP. I still have to finish anti-aliasing and then, add steel wings to the thing so it can fly. C+C so far?

The dino scene is really well done.  :D

The sprites, well, they're also very nice, though on the second one, I'd like to see some bouncing from the visor instead of just plain moving the eye... holes. Also, the second from the right, the sprite's going-into-smile transition, I believe, could benefit from uh, shape changing (?), instead of just sliding left a few pixels. Hopefully, you know what I mean.

So, is that a bloody sea, or a trail of magma? If it's magma, I think it'd look better with a few rock fragments here and there.

Overall, very nice work. I like it. Lots.

Pixel Art / blah, a self portrait
« on: September 29, 2005, 05:23:23 am »

It's a pixelated self portrait.
The background is still WIP, and I plan to polish it a bit before I call it finished... if I get time.  :P

C+C as usual.

Also, I realize the antialiasing isn't complete, and there is a pixel on the chin I meant to clean up.

Hi Overkill.

Anyways, these are done pixel by pixel with a limited palette, right? ;D

There are really inspiring pixel artists around here, you can learn a lot just by snooping around. ^_^

The spiked hair guy doodle, eh, well, I like your color choice. It doesn't burn my retinas. Which is good.
I think that the other arm and hand should be showing, since, well, he's facing more towards you than away. He has a huge eye, and the other eye is missing. Is that intentional, and if it is, are you shading the other eye, and if you are, shouldn't you cover the other eye with more hair? Also, you should maybe slim down the upper left body a bit to make room for another arm.

And this is just a personal thought, but I think his hair would look cooler if it looked like it could slice your head off.  :D

Use the dithering to define form.
Keep the light consistent.
Give him hands(? optional).

Very smooth animation though. He looks very laid back.

...Hi guys again. I've been hiding out in a corner here. I hadn't done pixel art in weeks now.  :-\ So my comments don't have the absolute highest authority here.
