like the texture on the wooly sweater. The collar doesn't read as well as the rest of the image though, I think it needs more separation from the first white stripe.

 Love the mockup.

Those graphics are very you. Bright and colorful... hmm
I'm not too fond if the way you shaded the cacti though. There may be a light source coming in from the top, but still, I think it could use some highlights in the flat area, or maybe that will make it too intrusive.
The enemies also kinda blend into the background. Or maybe I'm going blind, somebody back me up on this.

Was the pirate game in gamemaker, or something else?

I made an edit:

I cut out a lot of details in favor of readability. I also messed with/reduced colors. Do what you will with it :D

Hey Syn, wassup!  ;D

lol, ANOTHER edit. I tried making the lightning lighting radius larger, but I didn't like the way that turned out. I did push the moon back some, though. It's starting to grow on me :D

The body isn't the problem if you assume a light source from above,as the head would naturally toss a shadow unto the neck and etc.
The head, arms and legs could be shaded with a light source assumed from above the ... uhm... thing. Also, that means you barely/don't have to change the way the body is shaded.
Also, mo' contrast is good (I learned that after about 50 million people pounded it into my head, and even now, I have problems with it.  :blind:)

Don't pillow shade, it screws with some of the volumetrics. I don't think the colors are too saturated personally, but I would definitely go with a wilder palette to make things interesting.

So yeah, what Stwelin said. :D

So I made an edit.

Yeah, I wasn't so happy about the cloud too, so I was trying to get to (GAH!) look right.
Thanks for the C&C as of so far. :y:

Changed stance and added in right limbs.
looks better.

Are the arms too big, maybe?
The arms themselves, being too big or small, well, at this point, it's a style choice, and I don't personally think it's too big.

However, the (dino's) right limbs, assuming this piece is not isometric, would appear smaller than the closer left ones, with the basic rules of perspective and all.

I hope to see you color it in soon. Methinks it could be smaller, as I wouldn't attempt to color something this large. XD

Iunno. I liked the challenge, so I did something. 14 col.

Now that I made it, I notice that I could have added lighting effects where the lightning meets the cloud...

Oooh, brings back fond memories of Earthbound, the trees.

As for the water, I would go for more buffers of water, from the really sandy shallow white frothy waves to some nice deep blue.
I also argue against myself on this point, as the water goes stylistically with the rest of the stuff. But you know, that's up to you. :P

You know, pink water usually isn't a good sign for the environment . :D

Also, that's a really quick-n-dirty way of making a tree... but it still looks nice. Hrm.... where can I use this.... hahaha.
