General Discussion / Re: Official Off-Topic Thread
« on: December 07, 2009, 08:32:52 pm »
Weird. My vision had gotten really blurry and i got my eyes checked. Now i can pixel again with my new glasses, and surprisingly the reason for a big problem of mine was found in the process.
Before i saw everything skewed and warped a little bit so i had a problem with symmetry. Now it's fixed, but warped had become normal to me, so now normal seems so wrong, i can't even hold my balance properly.

Also now i realize why i got so many comments at work about lack of AA or too heavy lines.......
Damn, I'm sorry for you man.

I think that that genestealer is looking way to tall/fat, they don't stand you've drawn it, looking like some bulky mutant :P
also I agree the terminator is small.

note different base sizes

you should also make scouts.

General Discussion / Re: Your choice of background color
« on: December 05, 2009, 12:18:51 pm »
Yeah, that was a problem the old pixelation used to have and one that I blame the current pixeljoint. The background just doesn't flatter the pixel art and that's a problem on a forum used for showing that art. I remember posts on old pixelation going "I added a background because otherwise it looks really bad on these colors".

I have a problem posting my art on pixeljoint, because the default background is so damn white that it makes all my art look ugly. I realise I can change my user theme, but that's not how 80% of the PixelJoint members are going to see it anyway.
This is exactly why I have used the pixelation theme on pixel joint for a long time.

It would be funnier if he used his other hand to brush his hair to the left, then it just blows over again, as if he can't stop it.

no, using your canvas as if painting a picture, using a bigger brush. then refining it.

Pixel Art / Re: [WIP] help with sprite - space marine terminator
« on: December 03, 2009, 07:19:30 pm »
but at the size you're working it's too small too get away with it not being stylized, the thing about spriting for a game is to create readability. Therefore it is much more difficult to draw in as much detail as the sprites you've just linked to. Could we see some of your other graphics? because I much prefer the edits with the larger helmets to the version you are currently working with.
