Kind of a different topic, but I think you could add more to the character without more colors. Here, I tried to do that, in a sloppy, exaggerated way.

Things I did: 1st, I used the dark hair color as a third shade for for the pants. 2nd, I changed the color of the flowers to a more neutral blending color.  I used this in the hair for anti alias and for more detail with the pants and arms. I also did some other small ideas and color adjustments. The technique is sloppy, but maybe keep in mind some of the ideas. (I also really messed up the shirt)

While you guys are doing a great job a making spilled milk, in his first post with the milk, he also said it was spoiled, which would explain the thicker texture to the milk.
Here's the quote:
Edit:
And now with sketchy spilled and spoiled milk

I guess we'll just have to wait for the artist's reassurance on this, though.

I like the embracement of the Grid. Unfortunately, I agree that some of the tiles and tile intersections don't blend well, and although I understand that is part of the style, it doesn't look good in some places.  I actually like the flatness of the rocks, I think it creates an interesting contrast from the complexity of the metal.

The palette is pretty bland, IMO. Maybe upping the contrast a bit or try different hues? I feel the rocks could also could do witha slight saturation boost. Of course, this all depends on the context of the scene, but I still think it may need some tweaking.

You should add a definite light source, unless it is directly on top. That may be the trouble with highlights. It also seems kind of flat. Maybe you should add some more to it like scratches, cracks, etc. depending on how old it is. Right now it looks perfectly shined.

The stringy bits to the right of the door ... ?
Those are bars like you would find in a jail cell. I recognized them right away.
