General Discussion / id gustav for me
« on: April 09, 2006, 10:41:50 am »
Hey! Now I feel rather dumb to ask but you know I have seen several things from gustav lately and was very impressed. Now I wondered what his nick was/is and if you could point me to a site/more stuff from him. I'd love to see more of his pics. I probably just can't connect him to other pics I know and couldn't google him out (didn't try too hard hard so far though).
Thank's people.

Adarias your tiles are absolutely awesome!
I had to compare the pics(and the changes from every person) though to find out who did it. Couldn't you people also post your submissions seperately from the collab? (or maybe I'm just dumb)

ADVANCED PILLOWSHADING for when you know, you're not making art wrong enough.

THAT "tutorial" was really really brutal. I mean you warned us and all but still... damn curiousity

Yeah the english have some rather funny signs now and then. When I was in scotland (ok let's say the uk have some funny signs) there was this "beware of old people" sign. It was a pictorial sign and not unique - two ... maybe old people or yodas with sticks... totally cracked me up.
Than there's this guy on the yellow sign. All kind of bad things happen to him: from lightning hits to train accidents - you name it. That the guy is black is of course only for designs sake (it's not the states after all - just kidding)

the spectrum pics are quite nice btw

Congratulations you three (bastards :) )! It really was a fun contest.
Adam will you offer some crits for this like you did with the sprites?
(oh and baccaman I stumbled over my resonse to your fine crit and it may sound a bit bitchy. If that's so I didn't mean it that way. It's just that I was aware of the technical part - I read about it before I started my entry  - but you said that the amount of colors showed and that's what really interests me. So if you've got time and would like to elaborate on that point I'd be very pleased to listen. Here,PM or a new thread - whatever. Maybe we should have some heavy crit now after the contest like we usually have in non-contest things?)

Paul Klee; duchamp; bresson; yeah max ernst is highly inspiring; magritte
various illustrators of book covers (not the cheesy ones but more like donato) and brom/an illustrator of magic the gathering.
Oh and dave gibbons.
There are so many more...

Nope I think I got Adam right - just happen to be such a color count(yeah I understood the palletebank thing - not so complicated).
Just have to step back from it for a day - can't judge mine properly without some distance(too late for the deadline maybe but I like to tweak and improve my pics over time...)

FINAL thing
just a few color tweaks and 2 new tiles. That's it

Hell xion the second one is fantastic. Makes me wanna do some animations right away. The coloredit is abour right, the red is maybe a tad bit too saturated. Oh well  - go make more heh?

vedsten: Very much liked your first one. Smooth and lovely.
