Pixel Art / Re: The Depths is a work in progress.

it looks sweet so far - interesting how you work on a piece (liked the progress in green tea very much too).
The horns look great, but the face... I don't know I think that purple is bugging me slightly. I know it's
complementary to the orange and all but still...
May the horns could drop a shadow onto the face or something - although I think that wouldn't match the lightsource right
now.
Anyways - looking forward to see more!

hey there! Wonderful piece. With the colors you got going now you could brighten up the bg more.
To get more definition on the robot. In fact that's the only problem I see: The right side is bit hard to make out. I personally liked the greenish thing better.

Oh und Grüße aus Hamburg :)

That new update is great! Good that you kicked the dithering on the hill. I still think it's a bit hard to see where you can jump on and what's inactive bg. You've sweetly combined all those ideas flowing through this community lately to something new. Dare I say EXCITING? YES!

your perspective is twisted. From your(the sprites) knees downward the viewpoint is nearly top down while the viewpoint for the rest is like 30-45 degrees. You should chose which way it's going to be (huh I always wanted to say that  :D ). Besides I have to say that I don't really like your colorchoice here...

I think if you kept the blast pink and tint the armor yellowish(+hilight on the helm from the blast) you would have the best contrast for the lil dude. Anyways I like them - good work!
whoops, might be confusing what I said so>
If you tint the blast like in matriax' edit and keep the armor yellowish(like your yellow version) then you'd have a good combo...

This one rotted on my harddrive for a month or two. Decided to work on it a bit more... so yeah>>

progress>>

I'm not much of an iso guy but I made this with isocity in mind(buit i think I'll do a new one for that). Turned out to be too messy for my own taste but I think I will rather redo it completely then tweak it. So it's more of a "hey guys I'm still alive"  thing but C+C are very welcome of course.

which is not true. Lacking technique could and has been used as a stylistic expression.
Aside from the crits mentioned above I'd like to point out that you changed the mouth for the sig version to show the facial expression but did not change the eyes. And those are the most expressive parts in a human face(with the eyebrows).
If you care for some help in the pixelpart of portraiting(hope that's the word in english) st0ven has covered it all much better than I ever could in his tutorials -> www.spriteart.com

Hey very much like the first one!
And Rox: I feel that the jpeg high compression and resulting loss and artifacts are very interesting when used in such a small pic (nice contrast to the 100% accurate pixel elements).
I'd go even further and compress it higher (and after that add the pixel elements and than save it all in a lossless format to preserve the pixel part). Nice and quite conceptual (or heading strait that way)...

Hey it's finished - and looks damn sexy!
What I like (despite the palette) is that you managed to combine your free and in-flux lines with detailed textures. Loving it!
