Job offers / Need a tile artist to finish
« on: September 21, 2020, 09:29:47 pm »
This is for the game Slime:Evo. Currently, the team is working hard toward the 50% demo, but unfortunately the state of the world has resulted in a mess for the state of the tile art in the game. As you can see below, 3 different artist have been unable to finish for various reasons. I need someone to consolidate and finish this set, and hopefully work on others as well.

This is a ASAP project. Please don't apply if you have too many prior commitments. Flat rate for this assignment, to be discussed privately.

As you can see, the 3 different styles are very clashing in looks. Below is an example tileset that is currently in use and what this project considers to be a "basic tileset", which is what the job is asking for. Variety tiles may vary depending on artist's particular fancy.

Please send a PM only for job inquiries. Direct emails will be ignored. Thank you

Hey, my name is Falcon and my game is Slime:Evo.

A year ago I was here and picked up some real great artists for the project, driving it to its current state. Demo was completed, and is now being tweaked. This job offer is related to that.

I need a new person to help create backgrounds for my rooms. This can range from cave backgrounds to give the illusion of depth to cliff scenes with the background stretched to the horizon. Can range from the simple to the complicated. Here are some in-game examples:

Payments are paid through Paypal, instructions sent through discord.
Ideally, said artist can work with the current style of the game and deliver product within a week of order. Rates and time negotiable.

Hi, I'm Falcon. I am the author of the amazon best-selling series The Slime Dungeon and head of development for the game Slime:Evo based on the main monster of my game.

I've been working on the game since January, but only have gotten more serious in March and April. Pixelation has allowed me to find some very talented artists to work with, and I'm proud to start this log of our progress.

Game Plot:
You are a slime. Your brethren have all been captured or killed by enemy monsters. Defeat, devour, and evolve your way through the various worlds to rescue any survivors and take vengeance on them.

Game mechanics:
Choose how you want to play. As a slime, you adapt and evolve based on what you eat. Become a fire slime and continue down it's path to stronger versions, or add in the grey slime for bludgeoning power. Each evolution will unlock a new ability that you can choose to switch out with your current line up; never play the same way twice!

T0 have a playable demo ready for a Kick-starter campaign this September, 2018.

For the moment, that's the dream anyway.

Every week or two, I make a short video of the game's progress and upload it to my youtube channel. Thanks to my small team of talent, the art style has been more or less balanced back together. Mechanically, almost everything a demo should have is complete as well.

I'll likely be updating this devlog everytime I upload a video, so stick around and enjoy the journey with me!

Hi, I'm Falcon, writer of the best-selling Slime Dungeon series.

I'm currently making a video game centered around the slime evolution mechanics found in my story.

Here is video link---> Game Update 8

I am looking for a number of types of art:

Concept Art- grand art devoted to expressing the idea of the game. Images of the main character drawn in pencil, backgrounds of color to show off the various areas in the game, enemy ideas, etc. The range of art type here is unlimited so long as it pertains to the game.
Price- negotiable depending on style, complexity, experience, and speed.

Pixel Art- The game is using a pixel art style. I need pixel art for everything in it: foreground objects like trees and stone, background images, tiles, enemies with animations, etc. You can find my style in the youtube video above.
Price- depends on size. Example: willing to pay $2-$4 per animation frame for 'decent' animations canvas size: 64 px by 64 px
              -Experience doesn't matter

Kickstarter Art- The plan is to make a playable demo before September 2018, and then start a kickstarter comapign from there. Art here includes visual cues such as "Meet the Team" or "Rewards" in style, images for team members such as handdrawn faces or slime representatives, and images to be included in the promotional video
Price- negotiable depending on style, complexity, experience, and speed.

I'm quite open to offers, recommendations, advice, suggestions, and availability. Payments will be made through paypal primarily unless said artists do business through alternative mediums such as Devianart or Fiverr.

If artists are interested in becoming a more permanent member of the team, please send a pm for proper negotiations as payment will likely be less often and of a more significant wage.

As there has been a good deal of interest in this, I've created a try-out of sorts.
Only requirement is to use the video and sprites I provide (By email) as a base to create a single sprite that walks/flies.
Minimal size of 32 px by 32 px.

Note: if you're better at backgrounds or concept art, feel free to use this instead as long as it relates to the video.

If I like it, I'll work with you and use the sprite as our first business with additional animations commissioned.

Best, Falcon
