General Discussion / Re: How did you find out about Pixelation?

Link from ?? -> Tsu's Tutorial -> (revisited 2 years later...) Pixelation Forums

For Tsu's Tutorial, I think it was in the links section of some Mega Man page I frequented... don't remember exactly, though. It was a LONG time ago...And I never bothered to visit the forums until right about the first time they shut down / moved servers / whatever and took down the original tutorial page.

LadyBirdMan

I used more animals than I expected...any guesses?

That's kinda what I imagined those ostrich things from JOUST to look like...

I have both the japanese "dot-s" things (luigi set) and a set of pixelblocks.

Although the dot-s is limited to the 16x16 pegboard, you can always add on more.

Pixelblocks are a cool idea in concept, but the way the blocks link together just doesn't work out too well.

Let me know if you guys have any better experiences with these - I'd like to know how to use them or if I got a bad batch or something ;D

I know most of the hotkeys in Photoshop, and know how to pixel in Photoshop.

I usually use a mix of both programs, but I tend to use MSPaint more often.

After seeing all those videos in the recording post, I saw a bunch of weird things I'd never seen before in any paint program (paint only over one color, quick palette changing, etc.)

What program are you guys using? And if that's photoshop, how come I don't know about any of that stuff?

Any threads on advanced Photoshop techniques/hotkeys? Or whatever programs you guys use?

This thread certainly got off topic fast...

Mario Paint's Stamp editor mode along with the Nintendo Power "Player's Guide" (if you can call it that).

There was a section in the middle that showed you how to make sprites from zelda, Street fighter, and a bunch of other crap.

A few weeks later, I found MSPaint. Then, quite a long time later, I found the original Pixelation tutorials.

As for the Mario Paint date, I think i got it for Christmas of 1992, then I got the player's guide early spring of 1993.

I don't remember when I found out how pixels worked the same as the Stamp Editor in MSPaint, but I remember I was at my cousins house when I figured it out.

Have a closer look at Guybrush's "gun." He's been known to improvise with whatever objects are at hand.

D'oh!
I see it now! I glanced at it too quickly the first time... Cleversaurus! ;D

Awesome!

I've only seen Guybrush use a gun once, though... wouldn't he be a swordsman (Insult Swordfighting and all?).

Something I made while I was bored towards the end of one of my classes:

I have no idea what I'm going to use it for - I just kinda liked it. I feel like it needs more, though, but not too much more... any ideas?
