Considerably better, but still far from perfect

Also I ended up doing that thing I do subcounciously where I start shrinking the image as I work on it so now Robin's head seems slightly tiny comapared with the other two...

This is great work overall! You have excellent definition of hair shapes and volume, and some great features. But I see what you mean about the middle one.

Thank you for the very detailed feedback!

Especially on the nose, which was really bothering me. I'll go back and try to fix it up right away.

All three were based on official artwork, though I changed a few details (especially the hair).

I also used the collor pallete from VA-11 Hall-A, but that was after I finished the three of them and was messing around with the colors. Only exception is the pink on Perona's hair, because Va-11 Hall-A hasn't got a single pink object in the whole game (lots of purple, though).

My least favorite of the three is Robin (the middle character), but that is mostly because her artstyle is so unique, it's hard to replicate (the nose especially). Also I'm not 100% happy with her hair color. Or the shading. Or the hair highlights. Honestly I worked on her so much I got sick of looking at it and skipped to the third character.

The portraits are on 144x144, because that is the size for portraits in RPGMaker MV. I'm not really planning a game, it's just that I needed a size to do it and decided why not.

I'll attempt hue shifting more, then. It's something I had learned about, but whenever I try doing it my brain goes "you fool, you don't know what you are meddling with", and then I hue shift so little it almost looks like the same color.

Thank you! I'll use your claws as a base, and the hair is definitely an improvement over the pillow shading.

About the teeth, I see what the problem is with too much noise, but I wanted to convey some sort of shark tooth smile, like so;

original

I'm already taking some liberties with the design (I'm pretty sure Undyne doesn't have claws), but her teeth are like, a defining feature. I'll work on them some more to see if I can make them less noisy but still noticeably tooth-y

While you said the image doesn't have to be too much detailed, I think it could use a bit more detail on the upper part.

Maybe add one of those-watsitcalled straps at the top that people use to lift it up, or just make the front straps visible, similar how the pokemon games do.

I apologise for the meme image but I couldn't find just the bag

Alternatively, you could put one extra zipper in there, or a logo. Does your game have a logo? You could put the game's logo in there. Maybe in a faded color so it doesn't get in the way of the foreground.

I'm trying to make some claw-like hands for Undyne over there, but anything I try looks weird or out of place. While my method of bashing my head against the keyboard for hours until it start looks good has its merit, I thought I should suck it up and ask for help this time around.

If anyone has a tutorial for making hands, especially pixelated hands, I'd appreciate it.

Also if anyone has ideas how to improve what little of the image is already done, especially when it comes to the pallete choice, I'd appreciate it as well.
