I'm not quite sure where i've been... but im back now :)

anyhow, heres my attempt at an avatar. i tried to avoid dithering on the figures because I figures(heart and fox) I need to learn to shade without it.

Pixel Art / Monster Pixels
« on: October 18, 2006, 11:40:21 pm »
Behold!
Latest Update:

Old:

just a few sprites I'm working on for a game I'm thinking up. (kinda like dragon warrior monsters)
from left to right we have a Scorp(small), a Jello/Blob/Slime(small), a Goblin/Troll(small) and a Larger Goblin/Troll(Medium). Obviously i haven't really thought of names yet so feel free to suggest any.
I'm quite happy with the first 3 but i think the last one really needs some C+C

and some info on the game :D,
The game would work on the bases of fighting with a team of summoned creatures. each team has 6 spaces for these summons (as well as the Summoner (you) who can also fight).
Small monsters (16x16) take up 1 space
Medium monsters (32x32) take up 2
and Large monsters (64x64) take up 4
You can combine these how ever you wish.

More to come! + A Mockup! so C+C away please! :)

Haven't been able to post any work recently due the large amount of assessment I've been receiving at school lately, but now that I've failed it all I'm able to pixel again. introducing, Roberto!
Edit:
6 colours including black and white. I'm not really sure how long this picture took as i did it intermediately while writing bad essays.

whew, based of a picture in my art book. i would show you but i don't have a scanner that works T_T

7 colours including black and white. I used Niceidiots Metal Ape as a reference while shading (as it had the same look i had trying to get at earlier)

No reference pics for this so I'm sure the skeleton is pretty out of whack. but thats ok, it ain't a human skeleton anyway ;).

I think it looks good but i have an sinking feeling iv committed some kind of pixel atrocity.

update

This was kinda a test for a pallet i made up. which may not sound very big but i have always struggled with making original pallets (due to my mildish colour blindness*) so its actually quite a big step for me.

(*I get similar shades of certain colours mixed up, Green and Yellow, Blue and Purple, Red and Brown etc. though knowing whats where in paint helps)
