Pixel Art / Death Racer (Working Title)

Doing some work on a racing game under the dev title of "Death Racer" (Just a working title) and this is the first car I've made. Base design (left) by Breachparty2k3.



The Car is called Joyride and the Driver Jay. The symbol is of the Toxic symbol crossed with the letter J

I'm finding this a very hard perspective to master, please ignore colors for the time being and for the most part the shading (lack of highlights and the such) except when relevant to form.


(1st, holding shotgun position, rough)
(2nd, Stick over shoulder)
(3rd, Arms out)
(4th, Base)

The name's Lachlan Cartland.
I'm a mid-range graphics artist looking for some paid pixel work to complete.

Edit (2011): Wow, this is ancient, and kinda awful. But i'm gonna leave it here for nostalgia reasons.

Im 18 years old and am about to undertake a BA - Visual Arts at the ANU, but thats in a few months so I have plenty of time on my hands.
Im a decent Pixel artist with some solid core art skills. I'm also Competent with Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, Dreamweaver and Flash if that counts for anything.

Pixel Art / Help!, Cant draw the face!

Heres a new piece I've been working on,

The main problem I've had so far is that I have been incapable of drawing the face.

The area just seems to small and hard to work with, normally, I don't have to much of an issue with faces, i can do them really small (sprite size) or just a bit bigger then this, but this! ugh. failed attempt after failed attempt is driving me mad (I'm not even going to show you my past efforts on it!)


So please, Edit! Advice! I need your help! how do i make an attractive face in such a small and difficult area?

I haven't really done any pixel work worth posting atm, but my (mostly) unfinished pixelage has been building up abit. So i thought it time for a good ol' fashion pixel dump.

Whew, here we go.

I was messing around with pixeling characters, Kinda trying to capture the style of how the sit in Tactics/RPGs game.

is what i came up with. I decided it was wrong, it was too small too stiff and too lacking in... well, character.

So I tried again, This time attempting to pixel a character I've had in my head for quite some time. I made it bigger and tried to make it seem less... plastic (if you know what i mean)
Heres the result

Far more effort and a good result i think :). the character is based of the Roman Goddess of justice, Lady Justice.

Obviously her weapon is gonna be a huge ass sword. :P (I also pirated her up a little, cause i like pirates)
