Pixel Art Feature Chest / Re: Feature 01 - Kraken Vs. Vikings
« on: September 27, 2006, 12:59:50 am »
I like it but, I think compared to everything else the kraken seems a bit flat.
I can't really offer a suggestion to fix it, just something to maybe look into.

The way they are holding the swords is quite awkward, people do not usually hold swords perfectly straight up
when they are in a stance like that. I would suggest trying something a bit more dynamic. Cute and yes
it does remind me of neo geo :)

Looks nice,

You could do with some light bounce near the bottom
of the letters. It would make it more metallic looking
(if thats what you were going for )

Everything looks awesome aside from the hair. It just doesn't seem to fit with the rest.

Very interesting, I think the face could use more detail if its going to be a self portrait. But if thats the style well thats the style =p
shirt could use some contrast as well.

Pixel Art / Re: template character walk animations for mmorpg
« on: November 26, 2005, 09:34:41 am »
*sigh*

The coders don't want his feet off the ground in any of the frames. They seem to like this new animation though so as long as i get paid i suppose its good enough.

""Or, you could tell your coders to get a basic understanding of animation before they make whack decisions like that.""

My thoughts exactly, why are PROGRAMMERS telling you how an animation should be ? Usually an artist is designated as the lead artist and they are responsible for continuity and making sure everything looks right from the other artists. Are the programmers the owners of this project or what? If they have a basic vision for the game, fine I can understand that but I mean come on, feet have to lift atleast a little off the ground in a walk cycle.

All those figures where real and come from the BR Institute.  The reason that it’s true is because crazy people tend to choose creative jobs, while the most consistently off-kilter are poets.  Only 28% of physicists and biologists have mental disorders, just to show you guys the other end of the spectrum.

You'd have to be crazy to come up with some of the stuff we artists do :)
