That #14 looks really good.  Nice improvement!

Face and hair edit.  Touched on the arms a bit too.
As mentioned the head was very small.  Also, the face had a somewhat chiseled look to it, which kept it from looking feminine.

@wolf  The copter is very cool.  I can almost picture some missiles or paratroopers dropping out.

I gave it a go.  It's pretty small for a lot of detail.  A few more pixels all the way around would make a big difference.
Using fewer colors with a lot of contrast may help.

Portraits are tricky to get to the likeness.  Pay attention to the shape and size of features and how they line up with other features.
Was a little bored this morning...

Measure from the yellow lines (basically the bones).  The hip is the widest part of that area...feel them in your own hip.

I said the same size generally, and sometimes bigger than the shoulders.

Also keep in mind that the hips are generally the same width as the shoulders, if not bigger.

I think you did a nice job on the first hair style.  I see no problems there.
On the left I did a mouth edit.  Just seemed too wide and mis-shaped. On the right I went a bit more.  I know you weren't looking for a lot of detail, but I get carried away with pixels sometimes.  I found the head too wide and the neck a tad too long. And the shoulders had too much of a slope...just tried to balance things out and add more life.

I'm practicing drawing shapes an hour a day. I could invest more time but I don't want to become fed up with it so I'm starting slow and consistent and see where it'll take me.

That's perfect!
