Another idea..a bit more interesting pose?  idk.  lol

I used an outline here.  Seems to help to define things better, and it'll work on any background.

Your last version is looking good.  You just have to play with these things.

Looks too young. Maybe some more dramatic lighting?
Changed the colors quite a bit.

Looks great for a beginner.  Try a waving flag.

Looking good!

Another idea...

Also, you have a lot of skin tones, actually a lot of colors in general (27).  Some of which you can hardly tell apart and don't add anything.  You could do 3 skin tones, 1 highlight color that can be used everywhere, and a couple darker shadow colors that could also be used everywhere for example.`Color control would help to unify the image and keep it less busy.

EDIT: I really like the way you did the reflections in her glasses.

My edit plays with the light a lot with the hair.  Notice the difference between the darkest and lightest color in the reference hair.

Also, there's nothing wrong with using bigger patches (clusters) of solid color.  Try to limit the use of single pixels...it's good practice and helps to define volumes and shapes.

Looks like you're trying to render too much detail.  Do you have a reference?

For small stuff like this reduce your colors.  And like already said some of your colors are too similar.  Higher contrast helps to define shapes as well.

Edit (reduced to 8 colors)

To my eyes, the nose is too wide and long and too low.  The mouth a bit to wide.
It's hard to get the exact likeness on these.  Nice work overall.

I would think in terms of tiling. Draw a few clumps of flowers that are close up and a few more that are further away, etc.  Then arrange them into a patch.

This has a real trippy feel, esp. the sky.  Love it!
